Which extraction method used for CBDay Plus?
To extract our CBD oil, an innovative method is used to keep the therapeutic properties of all the molecules present in the hemp plant intact. Once the extraction is complete, the CBD and other active ingredients are diluted in a safe carrier oil such as MCT oil (from coconut oil).
Ingredients: caprylic/capric triglyceride (MCT oil), cannabidiol (CBD)
What is CBD?
CBD or Cannabidiol is one of hundreds of natural molecules present in the Hemp plant. Hemp or Cannabis Sativa L., is a plant belonging to the Cannabaceae family.
From the industrial hemp plant, that has no psychoactive properties, different natural molecules called "phytocannabinoids" are extracted. Among the more than 100 phytocannabinoids identified so far, the best known and most used are THC and CBD. O CBD, unlike THC, has no psychoactive effects, on the contrary, it helps to counteract the psychoactive effects of THC.
Our body's endocannabinoid system:
The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is a biological system present in the human body that acts as a regulator of a wide variety of cognitive and psychological processes, such as appetite, sensitivity to pain or mood.
It is composed of a specific number of receptors that interact with cannabinoids. Receptor cannabinoids work like mailboxes that receive information from cannabinoids, "messengers" that are classified into two types: CB1 and CB2, and that act with our body.
What are Cannabinoids?
Cannabinoids are chemical compounds capable of interacting with the receptors of our endocannabinoid system, and which we can find in three forms: endogenous, natural and synthetic.
How does CBD interact?
Cannabidiol (CBD) modulates some mechanisms that already exist in our body. In essence, when an imbalance occurs in our body, the modulation provided by cannabidiol (CBD) - which acts, for example, on the immune system or indirectly in an inflammatory process - tends to restore the original balance. Therefore, the action of Cannabidiol (CBD) implies an indirect modulation on a change in the human endocannabinoid system caused by a condition or trauma.
The Production Process
CBD extraction is carried out on the basis of cannabis varieties registered in the European Community Registry and accepted for cultivation for industrial use. It is low-THC Sativa L cannabis (always below 0.2% as required by law). Initially, a crude extract of the hemp plant is obtained. In this extract there are many components of the plant, CBD and smaller amounts of other cannabinoids, chlorophyll, wax, terpenes and everything that can be extracted from the plant is found in the first stage of extraction that looks like a dark molasses and that preserves the whole spectrum of hemp plant molecules. From this first extract, there are several refining stages that gradually lead to an increasing purity of the final product.
What are terpenes?
When we talk about terpenes, we are referring to secondary compounds present in the Cannabis Sativa plant and in many other plant species. These compounds are essential to support plant growth. They guarantee that they have their own and distinct smell and have, like cannabinoids, several therapeutic properties that deserve to be improved.
