Somos o que pensamos. Somos o que comemos. Somos as nossas hormonas

We are what we think. We are what we eat. We are our hormones

Our emotions, energy, mood, attitude and physical health are influenced by a series of factors, including our thoughts, our diet and our hormones. They are interconnected, they are interdependent and they can have a significant impact on our lives.

As?

Our thoughts are super powerful.

They can motivate or demotivate us, make us feel happy or sad, make us more or less resilient. When we think positively, we release feel-good hormones, such as serotonin, dopamine, endorphins and oxytocin - also known as “feeling hormones”.

These hormones help us feel happier, more confident and more motivated. On the other hand, when we think negatively, we release stress hormones, produced by the endocrine system, such as cortisol, which, unlike the previous ones, make us more anxious, stressed and prone to making impulsive and less favorable decisions.

''Learn to understand everything you feel. The goal is not to force positive thoughts, but to transform negative ones into something healthier so you can feel better.’’

What we eat has a significant impact on our thoughts, emotions and, of course, our physical and hormonal health. A healthy diet, rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, probiotics and prebiotics*, provides us with the nutrients we need to keep our body and mind healthy. These nutrients help regulate our hormones and improve our mood, focus and reasoning ability.

Foods such as kale, spinach, cabbage, celery, beetroot, ginger, radish and onion have antioxidant properties and high levels of potassium, phosphorus, magnesium and iron - essential for our hormonal balance. Exercising regularly, together with a careful diet and plenty of hydration, will work in our favor.

On the other hand, an unbalanced diet, rich in processed foods, sugar and saturated fats, can lead to health problems, such as obesity, diabetes, heart disease, hormonal instability, among many others.

‘’That which consumes, consumes it; what consumes you controls your life’’

Hormones are chemical substances produced by endocrine glands or neurotransmitters - produced by neurons - that regulate various functions of our body, including our mood, behavior, metabolic system and our state of health. When our hormones are out of balance, we can experience a range of negative symptoms, such as mood changes, sleep problems, difficulty concentrating and increased anxiety.

"We are what we think", "we are what we eat" and "we are our hormones" are true statements that we must pay attention to. Our thoughts, our diet and our hormonal system influence each other, forming a complex system that determines our health and well-being. They dictate many rules in our daily lives, it can be seen in our skin and in our energy.

By being aware of these premises, we can take measures to improve our quality of life and help keep our body and mind healthy. It starts in our mind: thinking positively, focusing on the good things in our life, practicing gratitude. When thoughts move towards negative reasons, the solution may involve looking for what is causing this direction and trying to align and direct our mind towards something that makes us smile. Breathe and remember that we are much more than what upsets us.

‘’Giving thanks is one of the simplest yet most powerful habits you can cultivate.’’
