How to use:
- To insert: Wash your hands and sit on the toilet/bidet. Squeeze the sides of the disk together, making it about the size of a tampon (figure 8).
- Insert the compressed disk with the flap facing forward, help with the other hand to open the labia (backwards direction). Keep pushing the disc towards the end of the canal until you feel it is positioned under the cervix. If necessary, center the tab.
- Push up on the front of the hoop, positioning it behind the pubic bone.
- If you feel the disk, it's because it was incorrectly placed, remove it and start over.
- To remove: Wash your hands and sit on the toilet. Place your index finger into the vagina and hook onto the tab, gently and slowly pull the tab until the edge of the disc slides off the pubic bone and lines up with the entrance to the vagina, then press the disc lightly and pull with your fingers.
- Pour, rinse or wipe and reinsert if necessary
- Once the period is over, clean the disc with water and sterilize it using a container for this purpose, boiling for about 3 minutes.
- It is normal that after a few uses the disc takes on a darker color. To help whiten, you can add 1 dessert spoon of sodium bicarbonate when boiling/sterilizing.
As with most things in life, it may take some practice.
You can use the flap tucked under the disc if you have a low/medium cervix or during sex. If you don't know the height of your cervix, you can use the dropped brim, which is better for a high cervix or for those who have reach issues. If you find that the flap bothers you, you can cut it along the second link or cut it completely, leaving without the flap. (see 5th photo)
